An online course to learn practical, trauma-aware language for helping clients slow down, find resources, stay connected to choice, and deepen their own awareness with embodied presence and skilled facilitation that doesn't lead or step out of your scope

The Missing Piece

Presence & Embodied Facilitation + Attuned Skilled Language

Somatic work often reaches a moment that no training manual quite prepares you for: a client grows quiet, a sensation changes, emotion arrives, or the nervous system begins to move toward overwhelm. You can feel that the moment matters but the words are not obvious. Many practitioners have learned the concepts of grounding, resourcing, attunement, and regulation. Maybe you even have language you've learned. But far fewer have been taught how to apply the somatic tools you know in real time with presence & embodied awareness. Somatic Verbal Skills online courses closes that gap. Jessica Garay guides you through a practical framework for centering yourself, helping clients find resources, creating more space, offering kindness, deepening inquiry, and recognizing when not to go somatic.

Trauma-aware communication does not push for a breakthrough. It supports safety, choice, collaboration, and enough space for the client’s own knowing to emerge

“Professionally, this work gave me confidence to support someone where they are right now.”

— Kim; Artist & Somatic Practitioner

This course is for you if

  • You notice client shifts but sometimes aren't sure what to say next.
  • You want language that supports choice instead of directing or fixing.
  • You want a repeatable way to center, resource, slow down, pause, and deepen.
  • You want the confidence to know what to say to your clients that will support them not risk harming them.
  • You want to know how to feel somatically not just talk it

This course is not for you if

  • You are looking for a clinical license, certification, or replacement for supervision.
  • You want to diagnose what a client’s physical sensation “means.”
  • You want cathartic techniques that push through activation.
  • You want one-size-fits-all scripts or a way to have a set protocol for a session.
  • You don't want to work with your own body awareness or nervous system in the process of learning

A CORE PRINCIPLE OF THE COURSE

The goal is to create enough safety & space for the client's own experience to come forward

Not to find the perfect interpretation, fix them, or diagnose their sensations.

CLEAR LANGUAGE + EMBODIED PRESENCE PROVIDES CREATES THIS EXPERIENCE

Not more somatic theory. A way to work in the moment.

  • What to do when I freeze and don't know what to say?
  • When the client says "I don't know", what that really is telling you.
  • How do I invite someone inward without making them feel overwhelmed?
  • What can I say when a client cannot feel their body?
  • When does an interruption creates deepening and when it might feel like abandonment?
  • How do I deepen an exploration without suggesting the answer?
  • How do I recognize when the body is saying “enough”?
  • When should I stop, refer, or move back toward the external environment?
  • How do I stay grounded and present when emotions are big?

This course turns difficult session moments into practical frameworks, sample prompts, guided practices, and clear decision points. You will learn the language and pacing but most importantly how to do that from presence & embodied facilitation. So you can go from using somatic tools to being a somatic practitioner

She has taught international retreats, co-created and launched multiple yoga studios and is currently running her wellness center & somatic training school.

She is currently on the teacher-certification track with the Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy Association of North America and on her way to founding one of only a handful of IABT-recognized biodynamic training schools in the world.

From her wellness and somatic training centers in Portland, Oregon, much of her work today is teaching clinicians and practitioners how to bring somatic skills into real sessions not as a theory, but as something you can actually say and do. Jessica came to this work through her own healing. She knows what it is to be stuck, and what it takes to come back and she teaches from that lived experience, not just her professional background.

Resourcing The Body

Support nervous-system stabilization, recognize accessible resources, and guide a resource practice without forcing calm or suggesting what the client should feel.

Giving Space

Use orienting, peripheral awareness, slowing down, and intentional pause to create room for experience without abandoning the client or crowding the moment.

Offering Kindness

Work with appreciation, relational blueprints, “adult eyes,” and the distinctions between kindness, compassion, understanding, and forgiveness.

Deepening Wisdom

Ask about sensation with more nuance, continue an exploration without becoming repetitive, and move beyond generic instructions to “feel the body.”

 Contraindications

Recognize overwhelm, understand when not to move further into somatic material, and make appropriate referrals while staying within scope.

Practice, reference, and live integration

"I came into this with curiosity but only a little prior experience in somatic work, so I wasn’t sure what to expect. But after just a few days, I’m blown away by how powerful this modality is. It’s like a full-body and mind “tune-up,” helping to shift things physically, emotionally, and relationally in ways I didn’t even realize were possible."

"Any human in relationship with other humans would benefit from this experience."

— Jenna: Somatic Practitioner
